Initial is awarded the water trophy

The water trophy contest, which was organised for the eighth time by the Rhin-Meuse water agency, selected Initial France – among 8 awarded candidates out of 109 submissions – for it’s initiatives with respect to water conservation.
“It’s a good way to recognize the team who put a lot of effort into the project of water consumption reduction that we initiated in 2004” said Philippe Blin, unit manager of Initial Faulqemont who represented the company.
Open to companies, associations, public authorities and schools, the Trophy rewards initiatives in favour of water consumption reduction and aquifer conservation.
Initial Faulqemont processes almost 17 tons of linen daily. In 2003, 19 litres of water were necessary to wash one kilo of linen. Thanks to the installation of water meters, to the investments in new washing equipment less heavy on water, and to a water recycling program, less than 12 litres are used today for each kilo of linen. This represents a saving of almost 35% on the water used!
Initial is very proud of this achievement, and will continue to work on environmental initiatives within all companies, in the different countries.
